Directors and Officers
Steve Price, Director and CEO,
a professional engineer, has been President of Price
Engineering Ltd., an engineering consulting company
providing technical and managerial expertise to the energy
sector, from 1995 to the present. Mr. Price has over 28
years experience in the fields of engineering and
management, including corporate operations, evaluations, and
facilities design and operation. Mr. Price received his
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from
the University of Manitoba in 1976, and is a member of the
Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and
Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). Mr. Price is also a past
Vice-President of HCO Energy Ltd., a past Vice-President of
Bralorne Resources Ltd., and a past Manager of Ranchmen’s
Resources Ltd., all oil and gas issuers that are or were
listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Jim Durward, Director and Chief
Technology Officer, has been
responsible for the general management, financing, and
specification/design of the LeadScan system and the
operations of UTEC from November 1999 to the present. Mr.
Durward was President and Chief Executive Officer of
International Datashare Corporation, a company specializing
in the creation and sale of oil and gas databases and data
management software from September 1996 until the
incorporation of UTEC.
Roger Brundrit, Director,
graduated with honours in Physics from the University of
Liverpool UK in 1961 and obtained his masters in Nuclear
Physics from the University of Manitoba in 1965. Mr.
Brundrit has over 37 years of experience in the oil and gas
industry mostly with Shell Canada and Royal Dutch/Shell.
His recent assignments with Shell were as Vice President
Exploration for Shell Canada and head of worldwide strategy
for Royal Dutch/Shell in The Hague, which included
responsibility for acquisitions and divestments. Mr.
Brundrit is a member of APEGGA as a Professional
Geophysicist and currently is a consultant in the oil and
gas business in Calgary.
Dwayne Vinck,
C.A., Chief Financial Officer,
is an independent
financial consultant and Chartered Accountant with nineteen
years of various business experience including executive
leadership, financial leadership, change management, mergers
and acquisitions project leadership, Sarbanes Oxley and MI
52-109 project management.
Mr. Vinck
is a Member of both the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Alberta and the Institute of Internal
Auditors.
Colin F. Ogilvy, Director,
is the VP Land with Twin Butte
Energy Ltd. and a Director of Silverback Energy Ltd.. Mr.
Ogilvy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and
Commerce in 1977 from Simon Fraser University. Mr. Ogilvy
has 30 years of experience working in the oil and natural
gas industry and has been the President and Chief Executive
Officer of four junior oil and gas companies over the past
18 years. Prior to establishing Silverback, Mr. Ogilvy was a
founder of Rival Energy Ltd. and prior thereto led the
restructuring and recapitalization of OGY Petroleums Ltd.
from 1994 through to its sale to Baytex Energy Ltd. in May
of 2001. Prior to OGY, Mr. Ogilvy held similar executive
positions with Hillcrest Resources Ltd. from 1990 to 1994.
Jeff Helper
is the Corporate Secretary of URX. Mr.
Helper has been a partner with law firm TingleMerrett LLP
since 2003. Prior thereto, he was an associate with the
Calgary office of Bennett Jones LLP from 2000 to 2003. Mr.
Helper’s practice is focused primarily on corporate and
commercial transactions, with particular emphasis on
securities and corporate finance for emerging and growth
companies, both private and public.
